I hold the Chair in Game Theory and Management and am full professor of Management Science at HEC Montréal. I hold a Ph.D. in management science, an M.Sc. in international business from HEC Montréal and a licence in mathematics and economics from Université Paris-Dauphine. Among other duties, I served as director of GERAD, director of the department of marketing and director of the Ph.D. program at HEC Montréal.

My research areas are dynamic games, dynamic optimization and operations research applied to management science (e.g., supply chains, marketing, and environmental management), areas in which I have published more than two hundred papers, co-authored three books and co-edited fifteen volumes. I am editor-in-chief of Dynamic Games and Applications and associate editor for ten international scientific journals. I am fellow of The Royal Society of Canada (Academy of Social Sciences), and was president of the International Society of Dynamic Games.

My research career took place exclusively at GERAD. My journey started during my master thesis co-supervised by Alain Haurie and Patrice Marcotte. At that time, GERAD was two-year old, and the Center fitted in an apartment barely larger than mine! I did my Ph.D. under the supervision of Alain Haurie, who was the main player in the creation of GERAD and was lucky enough to be hired by HEC Montréal and continue to live in this wonderful city. By now, GERAD is a well-recognized research center internationally and several generations of researchers developed their skills during their studies at GERAD. I am proud to have supervised 30 Ph.D. thesis, with all my students now doing research in academia or in business.

I was director of GERAD from 2001 until 2005. It was for me an occasion to witness from a prime seat how dedicated are our researchers and staff members to the success of the Center. During my term, we celebrated the 25th anniversary of GERAD, which included the edition of 10 volumes covering the various research areas of GERAD, and an international workshop. I have wonderful memories of these events!
