The information system presented in this guide, has been designed to estimate the nursing care demand generated by the population of a unit. This estimation can go up to seven days and considers the following:
1) The evolution of the patient in his disease.
2) The arrivals of electives or emergencies.
3) The nursing care plans associated with each patient's health report.

This computerized information system is totally autonomous and thus, completely controlled by the members of the unit.

An additional option determines the elective admissions policy that is the mosts likely to balance the nursing care demand with its predetermined supply.
