Visual Analysis of Multicriteria Decision Problems |

Bertrand Mareschal, Université Libre de Bruxelles, Service de Mathématiques de la Gestion (SMG), Belgique After a short introduction to multicriteria decision aid and its different approaches, we show how the use of visual representations and interactions can improve the different steps of the decision aid process. We focus on the new D-Sight software project that implements the PROMETHEE and GAIA methods including several new developments and emphasizes the use of visual tools from the preference modeling stage (flow viewer, interactive weight assessment) to the display of prescriptive (PROMETHEE rankings) and descriptive (multiple GAIA-type displays). Visual interactive sensitivity analysis tools are also discussed. |
