This talk presents and compares various non-linear traffic assignment models dedicated to strategic regional planning of freight transportation systems. We model the various components of these systems and their complex interactions, and also perform an actual multimodal, multi-product freight transportation system simulation. This evaluation platform serves as a comprehensive tool for analyzing the operations of the system.

The closed-loop control appears in robotic as robust control approach. Few works adopted this paradigm for real-time scheduling/control of discrete-event system like flexible manufacturing and transportation. We propose simulation-based real-time control software providing the appropriate sensor’s feedback. Results obtained when implementing for dispatching trucks to shovels in an open-pit mine are promising
