Principles and Applications of the Techno-Economic TIMES Integrated Assessment Model to Global Energy and Environmental Problems |
Maryse Labriet, Consultant, Madrid, Spain The ETSAP-TIAM is a multi-region technology-rich bottom-up model of the family of the MARKAL/TIMES models representing the entire energy/emission system of the World coupled with a climate module. TIAM computes a partial equilibrium on energy and emission markets, where the demands for energy services in each region are elastic to their own prices. The focus of the presentation will be on the structure of the ETSAP-TIAM, the data requirements related to the building of such a model for one country for example, as well as the possible applications, illustrated by the evaluation of long-term climate strategies.
