Overview

After two successful editions the writing activity is back! This year it will include a presenting activity. The writing and presenting activities are a great opportunity to learn and experience the peer-reviewed publishing and presenting process guided by experienced peers. It includes a presentation by Prof. Laporte on writing scientific papers and includes two group meetings with peers and a faculty member to share ideas and guide the writing process. It also includes a presentation and guided workshops by oral communication expert Sylvie Hertrich. Moreover, it will equip students to prepare their presentations on the LaTeX class Beamer.

• Oct. 11, 2019 - Presentation I "Writing a scientific paper" by Prof. Gilbert Laporte.

• Nov. 15, 2019 - Registration deadline.

• Nov. 22, 2019 - First writing group session.

• Dec. 20, 2019 - Extended abstract submission deadline and reviewer assignments.

• Jan. 17, 2020 - Presentation II "How to be a good presenter" by Sylvie Hertrich.

• Jan. 24, 2020 - Dissecting a good presentation a guided exercice

• Feb. 7, 2020 - Second group meeting. (Reviewer feedback)

• Feb. 28, 2020 - Tutorial I "How to use Beamer" by Youssouf Emine

• Mar 13, 2020 - Final submission and JOPT registrations.

• Mar. 20, 2020 - First presenting group session.

• Mar. 27, 2020 - Mock presentations.
