GERAD's Infrastructure
GERAD is physically located on two floors of the Pavillon André-Aisenstadt on the Université de Montréal campus. It includes offices, two meeting rooms, a computer server room and a printer room. All members and some of the student community have an office at their university by default, and many also have an office at GERAD when our capacity allows. Our infrastructure includes equipment and software in a computer network that is shared with the CIRRELT (Centre interuniversitaire de recherche sur les réseaux d’entreprises, la logistique and le transport). The equipment and access available to GERAD members and their locations are as follows:
GERAD:
- 90 workstations;
- 1 8-cores computing server (128 GB memory, Xeon E5-2637 v3 @ 3.50 GHz);
- 1 24-cores computing server (512 GB memory, CPU E5-2650 v4 @ 2.20 GHz);
- 8 NVIDIA P100 12 GB GPUs;
- 6 56-cores computing servers (512 GB memory, Xeon(R) Gold 6258R CPU @ 2.70 GHz) jointly with the CIRRELT and the Andréa Lodi Canada Excellence Research Chair.
LACED : the Computing and Data Mining Laboratory (LACED) is a laboratory at HEC Montréal providing computing servers and databases from several sources.
Orban lab: 42 x HS20 blade servers for calculation purposes. The KNITRO optimizer is available on this computing cluster.
Intelligent transport systems (ITS) lab: 6 x 8-cores computing servers.
Calcul Québec: brings together several Quebec universities and provides researchers with high-performance computing servers.
Compute Canada: together with regional partners (ACENET, Calcul Québec, Compute Ontario and WestGrid), Compute Canada leads the acceleration of scientific innovation by deploying advanced computing systems (CIP), storage facilities and software solutions.
The major optimization and scientific computing software that are available are Cplex, Gurobi, Xpress, AMPL, Matlab and Maple. Several other open-source software programs are also available.
