Several technologies and renewable energy forms are evaluated using the global energy model MARKAL. This report describes some advantages of such an approach and presents a detailed description of the solution obtained via the optimization process. The results suggest that the renewable sector is essential to achieve a desired objective concerning the emission level of CO₂ in Québec.
