ISS Informal Systems Seminar
Rough Fluid Equations
James-Michael Leahy – Imperial College London, United Kingdom
Seminar in hybrid format at McGill University room MC 437 or Zoom.
Building on Torstein Nilssen's foundational talk, we discuss rough flows and rough partial differential equations from the perspective of unbounded rough drivers. After establishing this groundwork, we focus on applications in building geometrically inspired rough fluid dynamic models. Specifically, we introduce a rough variational principle inspired by V. Arnold's variational formulation of perfect ideal fluids and then present the well-posedness of the rough Euler system.
