Energy, environment and natural resources

Energy, environment and natural resources are important areas of research at GERAD. In terms of natural resource management, GERAD has, for example, developed strong expertise in the optimization of industrial mining complexes. In terms of the environment, GERAD is particularly interested in the issue of climate change and proposes mathematical models to study strategies for decarbonizing the economy. Finally, in terms of energy, GERAD is concerned with both the management of energy production (e.g., optimization of hydroelectric production) and the management of energy consumption (e.g., in buildings). Following GERAD's research axes, some examples of applications in energy, environment and natural resources are detailed below.
